Attwood Corporation is seeking a Production Lead for the Foam
Department of our Marine Seating Division in sunny Largo, FL. We
boast an air conditioned facility, comprehensive benefits, a

environment. $17-20/hour DOE.
Lead and participate in production to accomplish daily tasks and
ensure production schedules and needs are being met. Provide clear
daily goals and have the willingness to maintain floor presence to
apply direction and assistance with product assembly as needed.
Position requires basic computer skills in order to perform daily
transactions. The focus of this role will also be to uphold company
rules, regulations, policies, procedures, quality standards and
safety to ensure an even flow of production across value stream
while understanding and applying core values.
Lead and participate in performing production related activities
such as assembly, fabrication, and/or sewing, and/or upholstery to
meet production performance targets and critical product
Assist Production Supervisor with monitoring production processes,
work assignments, parts availability, manufacturing supplies and
provide input for process and work flow modifications as necessary
to achieve production schedule attainment targets.
Monitor in-process production and the quality of finished products
by performing periodic process audits of manufacturing practices
and adherence to department procedures. Provide technical guidance
and feedback to assemblers when needed to ensure compliance with
Assist and promote process improvement projects, 5S, and lean
manufacturing through participation. Assist with developing and
updating procedures, checklists and guidelines necessary to sustain
changes and improvements in product quality and process
Assist with development and execution of cross training plans for
new hires and temporary work force. Maintain cross training matrix
and sustain cross training targets required to meet production
Lead daily shift start up meetings to review and communicate key
metrics/trends with production staff related to safety, quality,
schedule and productivity.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following company
standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
The above duties may be supplemented occasionally with other job
assignments related to career or personal development.
Education Requirements (Special training, College degree, etc.)
High School Diploma or GED required. Some secondary education
- 2+ years' work experience to major duties and
- Sewing, upholstery and/or fabrication experience preferred.
Skill Requirements (Technical, Communication, Interpersonal,
- Verbal and written communication (English).
- Bilingual in Spanish- preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel
PowerPoint and Outlook
- Must have strong organizational, planning and time management
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and methods, 5S,
- Ability to follow directives with limited supervision.
- Ability to work independently as well as in groups including
working with other departments.
- Interpret data/spec sheets in order to inspect parts.
- Ability to use basic tools such as tape measures, micrometers,
gages, fixtures, hand tools, etc.
- Ability to handle all matters with confidentiality.
Experience with ERP/MRP system is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities (Personnel supervision, Budgets,
Performance appraisal, etc.)
