Job Description:
Currently we have an opening for a Development Scientist located
in Miami, FL.Details for the positionare as follows:
Pay Range: $31-$41/hour
Job Description:
- 7-month contract with the possibility of extending or
converting to permanent based on performance and budget.
- Shift: Mon - Friday, roughly 9:00-5:00 (minor accommodations
may be considered)
- As part of Beckman Coulter Life Sciences - Flow Cytometry, the
Senior Development Scientist will serve as a team player within the
Flow Cytometry Development team and be responsible for activities
that support evaluating and implementing new technologies
pertaining to assay and instrument development.
- Lead/participate in the planning/strategy and execution of
studies for the development, evaluation and optimization of
assay(s) related to flow cytometry systems, including the hardware,
software and reagent elements of these systems.
- Work shall be performed within well-defined boundary conditions
and timelines; data shall be reviewed, analyzed, summarize and
results presented to broader team for discussion.
- Writing and review of study plans, procedures and reports that
shall ensure compliance to standards, policies and procedures.
- Exercise judgment within defined product concept to determine
appropriate actions when participating in identifying/trouble
shooting technical issues and driving to resolution.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve project objectives and
deliver timely solutions to meet business needs.
- Work with Program Manager and Project Lead to support daily
management of project timelines to enable accurate projection of
completion dates and effective prioritization of
tasks.QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Biological Science, Immunology, Bio-Medical
Engineering or related field plus relevant experience: PhD, MS with
3 years of academic/professional experience, or bachelor's with 4
years of academic/professional experience.
- Solid technical background in high complexity, multi-color flow
cytometry assays with state-of-the-art understanding.
- Strong technical background in designing and writing essential
development documents, reviewing and interpreting the statistical
analysis of the study data and summarizing into study reports.
- Familiar with product cycle and design control requirements
including initial development and feasibility activities,
characterization, verification and validations, design transfer;
knowledge in development of IVD diagnostic products is
desired.
- Meticulous attention to detail, proficient reasoning and
problem-solving skills in experimental design, data analysis and
interpretation.
- Demonstrate good understanding of the scientific method,
various experimental designs and statistical data analysis
approaches, and proficient in statistical analysis tools, like JMP
or Minitab.
- Ability to work collaboratively fostering professional,
constructive relationships as part of a team while also working
independently to produce data and meet challenging timelines and
goals.
- Demonstrate a cross functional approach to problem solving and
apply expertise to resolve problems of significant scope and
complexity
- Excellent organization skills and time management skills to be
able to efficiently evaluate, prioritize and handle multiple tasks
and priorities.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively both orally and
in writing with colleagues and various functions throughout the
organization.
- Flexible to take up new challenges & performs other related
duties as required.
