The Mechanical Engineering Intern will work with the Engineering Manager and Director of Operations to create an appropriately scoped project list addressing immediate business requirements for our Manufacturing processes.Job Responsibilities

• Support roll-out of new engineering projects.
• Review and document new/revised manufacturing processes.
• Support set-up of manufacturing work areas for optimized assembly.
• Coordinate tooling set-ups and requirements for optimized production floor utilization.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed to support AMETEK, Inc.'s Mission Statement and company goals. Qualifications
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. Individuals must be able to present and discuss project plans, requirements, test results, etc. in a team based work environment.

Skills
    • Project Management experience a plus
    • Exposure to LEAN methodologies
    • Experience with ERP system (Oracle) Provides fundamental Mechanical Engineering support for Largo facility (Legacy STC). - Current position supports $27MM in Sales through manufacturing team support, new product development, technical product support, other facility department requirements including cost optimization. - Business growth is currently 12% YOY. - Current facility backlog is $3.5MM (-1.5 months).Position is responsible for supporting Largo's Engineering team through design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems, products, and equipment. - Requires cross-department interactions to ensure support from customer order through product shipment. More specifically, Engineering Intern will provide fundamental guidance in resolving Manufacturing support issues (including troubleshooting & problem resolution), partnering with Materials team on part and vendor management, supporting Engineering Team on specific new product development opportunities, and identifying and implementing cost saving initiatives.Intern position will allow experienced engineers the opportunity for exposure to young professionals and their experiences with newer technology while partnering with these resources in completing fundamental assignments to allow AMETEK staff the opportunity to leverage their time on higher business return projects.
