Job Description:
In the clinic setting, our athletic trainers have the
opportunity to work with providers in a medical assistant capacity
or as an ortho tech/DME specialist. Our athletic trainers are able
to utilize their vast knowledge within this space to help increase
efficiency within the clinic. Being integrated into the clinical
space allows for an increase in communication with our team
physicians allowing for better patient care.Key Responsibilities
(Outreach):Provide immediate evaluation and treatment of athletic
injuries during practices and games.Develop and implement injury
prevention strategies, including warm-up exercises, conditioning,
and stretching routines.Provide first aid and emergency care for
injuries and illnesses related to athletic participation.Maintain
accurate documentation of injuries, treatments, rehabilitation
programs, and return-to-play protocols.Work with athletes on
rehabilitation programs, ensuring safe and effective recovery from
injuries.Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, coaches,
and other health professionals to develop and monitor injury
treatment and recovery plans.Educate athletes, coaches, and staff
on injury prevention techniques and safe practices.Maintain
athletic training equipment and supplies in a clean, safe, and
organized manner.Provide travel coverage for away games and events,
as needed.Assist with organizing and coordinating pre-season
physicals and health screenings for athletes.Key Responsibilities
(Clinic):Escort patients to exam rooms.Obtain medical histories
from patients.Assisting providers with injections, suture removal,
dressing changes, etc.Ensures zones are adequately stocked for the
clinic.Ensures the patients understand the physicians' instructions
for medications and follow-up care.Utilization of EMR
system.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Athletic Training or
related field.Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for
Athletic Trainers.Current Florida state licensure (or eligibility
for licensure) as an Athletic Trainer.CPR/First Aid/AED
certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire).Strong
knowledge of injury evaluation, rehabilitation techniques, and
injury prevention strategies.Excellent communication,
interpersonal, and organizational skills.Ability to work flexible
hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on event
schedules.Prior experience in a school, collegiate, or professional
sports setting is preferred but not required.Preferred
Skills:Masters degree in Athletic Training or related
field.Experience working with a variety of athletes (youth, high
school, collegiate, or professional).Familiarity with athletic
training software for documentation and scheduling.Working
Conditions:Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, and
providing physical assistance to athletes.Ability to work in
varying weather conditions during outdoor events.Occasional travel
