Department/Program: Adoptions FLSA Status: Exempt Job Summary: Responsible for Family Support Services oversight and coordination of adoption recruitment activities. Directly supervises adoption recruitment staff at FSS Suncoast. Responsible for coordination of recruitment activities at Family Support Services. Reviews various requests from adoptive families and composes appropriate responses to those requests. Refers inquiries to appropriate recruiter, post adoption specialist, or CMO for assistance. Essential Duties: Provide oversight and supervision to the FSS Recruitment Specialists. 25 Schedule and participate in monthly recruitment staffings for unmatched children. 20 Serve as the point of contact for inquiries to the Adoption Hotline and FSS website including, but not limited to: requests for general information, child-specific information, and post adoption support 15 Review adoption homestudies 10 Schedule and facilitate recruitment transfer staffings. 5 Schedule and coordinate PRIDE trainings. Co-train PRIDE trainings as needed. 5 Attend meetings on behalf of Adoptions Department as needed. 5 Oversee and/or facilitate adoption information sessions. 5 Facilitate and oversee initial screening of families interested in adoption to ensure only appropriate families proceed to PRIDE training. 5 Other duties as assigned by Adoption & Supportive Services Manager. 5 Supervisory/Decision-making Authority: Does the position require customary supervision and management of at least 2 or more full-time employees? YesNumber of direct reports and their position titles: 4Adoption Recruitment Specialist (4)Two examples of the most common decisions made independently by this position on a regular basis without following prescribed procedures. The Adoption Recruitment Supervisor will often determine whether there are potential barriers to considering a family as a prospective adoptive family based on arrest history/background information. The Adoption Recruitment Supervisor will often determine assignment of incoming recruitment cases. Contribution and Impact: The Adoption Recruitment Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that children who are legally free for adoption are matched with adoptive families and those adoptions are finalized in a timely manner. The Adoption Program Supervisor is responsible for maintaining accurate data with regards to the current population of children available for adoption. Strategic Value: This position is integral to the FSS goal of providing family centered customer services while ensuring that adoptive placements are strengthened, supported and remain intact. Minimum Qualifications: _Education: _Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. A Masters Degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience._Experience: _Minimum of three years experience in child welfare. Knowledge of adoption programs and processes to include Medicaid, mental health and other supportive services. Knowledge of Chapter 39 and Administrative Code 65-C. Supervisory experience preferred.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
