Position Overview Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for
Children seeks a dedicated full-time (1.0 FTE) Palliative Care
Physician to join our well-established, interdisciplinary
palliative care team. This is an exceptional opportunity to
contribute to a robust program that serves as a consultative
service for maternal-fetal medicine patients, neonates, pediatrics,
and young adults with complex palliative care needs. About Our
Program - Our palliative care team is recognized as one of the more
comprehensive programs among children's hospitals, offering unique
services including: An interdisciplinary care model with a
dedicated nurse, chaplain, counselors, and child life specialist to
enhance the quality of life of the patients served. Extensive
perinatal palliative care with close maternal-fetal medicine
partnerships in the Fetal Care Clinic at Winnie Palmer Hospital for
Women and Babies Pediatric hospice management for patients who have
a hospice plan of care Comprehensive bereavement support in the
form of complimentary grief counseling, providing grief resources,
and hosting multiple remembrance events throughout the year
Automatic consultation for various NICU diagnoses (Periviable, CDH,
Renal Replacement, ECMO, Complex Care, etc.) Outpatient services,
including home visits for patients with a hospice plan of care Key
Responsibilities Providing patient palliative care services across
all pediatric populations from neonates to young adults Collaborate
with maternal-fetal medicine teams to provide excellent perinatal
palliative care Provide expert pain and symptom management
Facilitate goals of care and advanced care planning discussions
with patients and families Provide outpatient palliative care
services and collaborate with other pediatric subspecialists for
children with medical complexities Participate in direct management
of pediatric hospice services Maintain professional consultation
relationships across all hospital departments at both Arnold Palmer
Hospital for Children and Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and
Babies Qualifications: Education: M.D., D.O. Completion of an
ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency Pediatric Hospice and
Palliative Medicine Fellowship Board Certified or Board Eligible by
the American Board of Pediatrics Board Certified or Board Eligible
for Hospice and Palliative Medicine by the American Board of
Internal Medicine Unrestricted FL medical license (or the ability
to obtain one) and DEA Benefits Package: Comprehensive benefits
