Welfare Diversion Specialist provides specialized assistance to
Dependency teams and the children and families in care. Overall,
the Child Welfare Diversion Specialist contributes to strengthening
families by delivering proactive behavioral health, case
management, and community and early childhood solutions.Position
Responsibilities -Provide specialized assistance to Child Welfare
teams and the children and families in care. -Coordinate planning
strategies and maintain positive relationships with agencies and -
- - - -community members as applicable.Maintain close contact with
approved providers of care and secure daily reports of bed
availability. -Assist with assessment of client's behavioral and
emotional needs to determine the best possible home match. -Assist
with the physical placement of the child. -Attend related meetings
and inform necessary parties of procedural problems, changes, and
placement issues. -Conduct home visits. -Attend placement staffing
meetings, as needed. -Prepare documentation for and attend/testify
in court hearings. -Provide on-call support after
hours.Qualifications*Bachelor's degree in a Human Services related
field from an accredited university, required.*Master's in Social
work or related field from an accredited university, preferred.* -

child development, child protection, cognitive science, community
organization & advocacy, counseling, criminal justice, criminology,
economics, education, family development, healthcare, -human
development, human services, juvenile justice, law & protection,
marriage and family therapy, mental health, nursing, philosophy,
