Senior Electrical Engineer What you will do Performs conventional, less complex engineering assignments that involve product design.duties, with supervision, utilizing knowledge and skills commensurate with the requirements of this position. Develop engineered solution to moderate difficulty problems and enhancement to existing designs. This position requires collaboration with marketing, other inter-company engineering groups, and manufacturing. How you will do it Understands and communicates electrical safety standard requirements. Generation and maintenance of agency listings relating to electrical, electronic and control equipment and components. Oversee and contribute to the design and development of electrical, electronic and control equipment and components relating to new products, value engineering and continuous improvement. Implement new motor, controls, and electronics technologies. Lead and implement new power or control technology. Create and lead engineering change based projects. Support manufacturing issues as they arise. Support of software development for electrical, electronic, and control components, equipment, systems, and sub-systems order entry engines and automatic design engines. Create rules and logic for unit configurations and bill of material generation. Generates business opportunity ideas such as work productivity enhancement, product cost improvement, and cost avoidance. Develop and maintain electrical engineering design and documentations standards. Participates in the development and/or improvement of new and existing products for design change, cost reductions, warranty improvements, and manufacturability. Supports and provides technical direction on specific work assignments. Assists with evaluation of vendors. Defines and/or interprets electrical wiring and control requirements for products. Defines and performs product prototype building and evaluation. Calculates product cost working with corporate standards. Provides support for the marketing, sales, application, ordering, manufacturing and service of products related to the HVAC industry, and incorporating electrical and electronic components, equipment, and systems. Support of electrical heat and mount & wire manufacturing department. Qualifications What we look for Required Qualifications o Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Controls and previous engineering work experience o Knowledge of electrical theory, design, and application (Knowledge and ability to use principles, theories and practices of electrical engineering.) o High proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Profiency with other Microsoft Office products o Ability to obtain and interpret datasheets for electrical and control components o Ability to create electrical wiring requirements, interpret drawings, diagrams and blueprints. o Previous experience in manufacturing environment is beneficial Experience: proficiency and minimum 3 years of experience with the following: o Bill of material structures and databases. o Engineering change management. o Manufacturing electrical support. Parts database structures. Experience creating schematics with AutoCAD (Skill and knowledge in use of two-dimensional AutoCAD for electrical and controls drafting.) Familiarity with electrical codes such as NEC and UL 1995, specifically as they apply to equipment wiring. Two to three years' experience in HVAC or closely related field. Proven track record of successful product design. Concise and clear written and oral communication skills in a cross functional environment. Design for manufacturability concept knowledge and application with emphasis on electrical wiring. Ability to maintain focus for long periods of time. Ability to deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism. Possess a professional appearance and positive work attitude in accordance with work area and Company policies. Able to develop skills necessary for advancement.
